I have been waiting for this! He isn't potty trained yet but he wanted to wear his big boy underwear. He ran at the camera when I tried to take a photo of him...and this is the only one I got before a fit started. I think he looks adorable in his little undies!

Spent the day driving! I had a bunch of errands to do and drive my sister, Chrissy, to the airport. There was bad weather and the roads were just horrid. But before heading out...took a picture of us! My little sister heading off to Florida for over 2 weeks. I miss her.

My grandpa passed away today. We got together at his sister's house (my great aunt) and had brunch with family. My whole life I had never been through the whole house and I got the tour. It was really beautiful-- just filled with photographs! Someday I want a photo wall just like this. :)

My Isadora, sitting up...just a quick snapshot but I really didn't have time for photos. Man, I can't wait for my equipment! It was neat at first having an excuse to be lazy and not use it...but now it really stinks.

SNOW DAY!!! We finally had some good packing snow...maybe even a little too good. We had a hard time making a snowman but managed a pretty good mountain with a tunnel to crawl through. Anyway, my Berlin can't wait for spring... she was trying to plant in the snow. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it wasn't going to work.
(and yes, this isn't the crazy photos I was taking with my phone because i pulled out my broken camera and hoped that i would get one shot in focus. eh, good enough for this i guess. I still need to send this one in to the shop.... on my list of to do's!)

With my equipment still in the shop, taking the photo with my iPhone... actually pretty fun! A little liberating to just see something pretty and snap without much thought except composition. The sun looked so beautiful coming through the trees at my in-laws.

Chuck E. Cheese with the kiddos... whack a mole! Photo taken with my new iPhone app... this one mocks Ina's 1969 film with a lens kit called Roboto Glitter along with a berry gel flash. I just love the look.

My husband, James, suggested I take some pictures of things down in the basement...with it being a older house, there are some interesting objects. I've thought that the old electrical panel is pretty. I like the fuses. Photo taken 500 ISO, 85mm lens, f1.8, 1/200th, flash bounced to the left.

Had to trek out to Wyandotte today to have my camera equipment checked and dropped off for repairs. I am not usually found south of Detroit.. so many icky smells from those factories off I-75... but it wasn't that bad of a drive. On the way back I kept seeing graffiti really really high up on buildings. I am very curious how they manage that... do they bring a ladder?! Mission impossible off a roof?!

It has been a busy couple of days... so my mind wasn't really on the photos too much. We celebrated my son Elijah's second birthday with family-- we had 25 of our close family over! I got some really funny pictures of Eli but being Valentine's day... I thought I'd go with one of love. Here is my sister, Chrissy and Eli. He was running to have her save him from his dinosaur gift that roared.

The way I am feeling right now... these should be a sad face. I attempted to make a robot cake for Elijah's birthday party tomorrow and all 3 cakes that I baked fell apart. I am usually a fairly good baker so I am not sure what happened. I'm sad. But these are some of the treats I made that did turn out.

What a wonderful day!! I am now 27 years old. For my birthday, my awesome mom came down to watch my kids so that I could have a date day with my husband. We went ice skating, then to the Detroit Institute of Arts, then for some yummy mexican dinner at Monterray Cantina in Royal Oak. The art museum was amazing. I haven't been to the DIA in 13 years other than for a photoshoot! It was very inspiring.

While playing Barbies today with my daughter, Berlin, she started singing because we needed music for our dance party. The lyrics were hilarious. She sings a lot... usually going to the bathroom turns into singing and dancing in the mirror for an hour. So I ran to grab my camera... she only let me take one before getting annoyed that I wasn't playing.

Isadora, 23 weeks old, is very excited to be moving. She is doing an army crawl now and discovering all the fun things she can reach at floor level.

Elijah, my almost 2 year old, brushing his teeth. If only we were all as excited about brushing teeth as he is! I bought him new Thomas the Train toothpaste for toddlers today and I was superhero mom for a minute. I love how easy they are to please.

Joy. Exhilaration. Purity. To be a child zooming down a snowy hill just enjoying the moment. I took a lot of pictures yesterday at my nephew, Owen's, third birthday...but I felt that this photo captured Joy and a feeling that I'd like to have all day everyday.

Spent some of my day at the Belle Isle Conservatory and Aquarium. I have a bunch of photos but this one stood out to me. Handheld so could be sharper if I had my tripod but i like it enough. 800 iso, 1/5th @ 2.8 taken in the corridor of aquarium.

routine. we all have one of some sort... even if we don't think so. i started to take some photos of typical parts of my routine. oral hygiene is important. :)

a heart for this month of love. actually, I did this in like one minute because Isadora started crying and I didn't have time to do anything else. I have some more ideas I'd like to work on for this.

Exhausted today, I just decided to take the night off of anything productive and just paint my nails.

Nap time for my middle child, Elijah, means that Berlin and I find something fun to do that wouldn't be so easy with him around. Usually it is painting or baking time but today we played downstairs in the basement at the bar. It is decorated with a mix of 1970's tongue in cheek items, some really neat lanterns, and misc. items my husband James loves (like Chelsea soccer swag). We put on some records and pretended we were making smoothies. She has such an imagination and I love to participate and listen to her stories.

I just LOVE brand new art supplies. Something about an unused crayon...must be the possibilities of creation awaiting to be made with them. :) I got this giant box of crayons as a gift and my daughter, Berlin, was delighted to find that there were sparkle and metallic crayons in this set. To be honest, so was I. We sat down and drew monsters for over an hour.
